The Academic Language Institute (ALI) is a
private entity dedicated to providing quality educational and professional
internship opportunities to individuals and groups seeking tailor-made
Spanish-language acquisition programs in Spain. Our goal is to meet the
specific needs of each university, sponsor or student by
offering both pre-established study programs and specially designed
specific-purposes language programs. Courses are available for all
proficiency levels and include practical enhancement activities to
complement and expand classroom activities.
Why was
the Academic Language Institute created?
ALI was created in response
to the many inquiries received in the past from representatives of
universities, institutions of higher education, professional
groups and even individuals who had clearly defined needs and desires as
regards Spanish language acquisition. ALI’s goal is to
serve as a liaison between interested parties and private and public institutions
in Spain to develop an
appropriate program of study for each individual or group and to guarantee,
to the greatest extent possible, that each participant’s needs and expectations
are met.
What does the Academic
Language Institute offer?
ALI
offers both pre-established and
custom-designed study programs at the University of Alicante (Alicante,
Spain) and Miguel Hernandez University (Elche, Spain). Students can enroll
in semester- or year-long academic programs or take an intensive course for
shorter periods of time. Study can be focused mainly on language development
or on a combination of language acquisition and cultural or business
studies. Direct enrollment options and internships are also available.
Courses are available for all proficiency levels, from true-beginners to
heritage speakers of Spanish. (Click on the icons on the sidebar for
detailed information about each program.)
Where are ALI programs
offered?
The province of Alicante, home to both the University of Alicante and Miguel
Hernández University, is located on the southeastern coast of Spain in a
region that enjoys a mild climate year round, is known for its beaches and
marinas, has a solid economic foundation based on tourism, services, and
industry, and boasts a very full agenda of cultural activities and popular
festivals throughout the year. The people of Alicante are open-minded, warm
and welcoming of foreign visitors and are one of the key reasons students
consistently rate their study abroad experience at
ALI
as excellent in all respects. The cities of Alicante and Elche are both
thriving, mid-sized cities that recognize and appreciate the contribution
made by international students to their communities, and both the University
of Alicante and Miguel Hernández University are world-class institutions
offering a full range of academic programs at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels. The combination of excellent educational institutions and
dynamic locations is a guarantee of a positive international study
experience for all participants.
